In working closely with hundreds of coaches over the years and studying the profession from the lens of a business expert, it’s become crystal clear to Corey why over 95% of certified coaches are either failing or simply earning hobby income in their business.
Some of the disturbing patterns that emerged were Coaches:
- Receiving bad business advice from well-intentioned coach trainers—some of which train coaches for a living because they, too, struggle in their coaching business
- Lacking a real business strategy and wondering why they aren’t getting traction—they don’t know what they don’t know
- Approaching their business backwards by choosing their niche before validating that there is a real business opportunity there
- Trying to sell coaching to people who don’t want coaching and getting discouraged by the rejection and/or working for low rates for these people out of desperation
Corey supports coaches in solving these problems for good, shaving off years of struggle in their business.
Coach Training does NOT prepare coaches to own and manage a business
Most coaches launch their business fresh out of coach training before having the necessary business training. The reality is that managing a business requires a radically different mindset and skill set than does coaching.
The good news is you don’t need an MBA to be a successful business owner. In fact, managing a coaching practice can be quite simple when you understand and apply the right principles.
Corey’s Purpose and Mission
“My heart breaks for all these gifted coaches who start out driven to make a real impact only to find themselves discouraged by not getting results. Too many begin to lose belief in themselves and even the coaching profession. They find themselves in a scarcity mindset, sometimes not even willing to invest in their own coaching—and they wonder why they’re struggling to convince others to invest in coaching.
My main business serves established business leaders who understand that investing in the right type of support is crucial to success in business. While working with these leaders continues to be extremely rewarding, my heart keeps pleading with me to make room to serve a few coaches.
By honoring the calling of my heart to serve a few coaches, I create a ripple effect. As I help a select few coaches per year be successful in their business, they’re able to gain many more ideal clients and work powerfully with them, creating the impact for which they long.
As my coach clients develop profitable and sustainable businesses, hundreds more people receive life-changing coaching from them, and their clients go on to create positive impact in their communities and homes, touching the lives of thousands.
I’ve been blessed with deep experience driving successful businesses and advanced training in business strategy. I’ve been gifted with a strategic mindset, and I have a clear view of what’s holding coaches back and how to bridge the gap.
To honor my calling to reach back and offer a hand-up to coaches unsure about their business, I serve a few select coaches at a time in their quest to achieve business success. These are gifted coaches determined to do what it takes to get their coaching business booming, so they can achieve greater income and impact.”
Corey currently accepts only three new coach clients per month for coaching or mentor coaching (for certification).
“Corey and I worked together for several months during one of the toughest parts of my life. I looked forward to our coaching every week because it helped me to put my situation into perspective and not carry more of it than I needed too. In addition, I was able to use my coaching session to help restructure my life after it seemed to me it had fallen apart. In addition, Corey pointed out some challenges I was having, and this allowed me to work through them and instead of them consuming me they became great lessons and provided strength and growth. As a result, I’ve been able to successfully start my own business and fulfill my dream of starting a doctoral program. This would not have been possible if I had stayed stuck.”
